Many boys and girls are simply not equipped for this kind of competition, and become fearful about the opposite sex. Instead of trying to relate to the opposite sex as an individual, they strive to relate in a way, or in an image that will find approval in the eyes of their parents. Of course, many of them fail, and in failing become fearful of sex. These boys and girls eventually turn inward for sex but not to their parents whom they have come to loathe and hate for pushing them into situations they couldn't cope with. Instead, they confide their anxieties to an, older aunt, or uncle and have sex with close but not immediate members of the family.

This book documents four case studies of people who were incest-prone from their earliest years. They failed to find sexual happiness outside of the family structure. Eventually, they all returned to the warmth and security family sex offered them.

In the first case, a fifteen-year-old boy from a middle class family is forced by his social climbing parents to date girls from wealthier families. He isn't accepted by the richer people and develops a neurosis about his rejection. He turns first to a comforting older aunt and then to his own grandmother. Both older women take him to bed to reassure, and comfort him.

Case History Number Two documents a woman's attempt to find security after the sudden death of her husband. Her attempts fail until she takes her oldest boy to bed and make him the head of the family. They reside as man and wife.

The third study relates the problems of business executive who finds himself suddenly impotent. He tries many cures and they all fail. But when he confides in his daughter, he discovers he can become sexually potent again. He and his daughter live as man and wife.

The fourth case documents the history of an aging matriarch of one of America's wealthiest families. After passing the menopause, she discovered that her appetite for sex had greatly increased. Her much older husband could no longer satisfy her. And yet, with her wealth and position, she feared outsiders. Her husband suggested, she turn inward to her own family. She did. In quick succession, she seduced her nephew, and grandson. She found the answer to her problems in exclusive incestuous sex.
